MAKEUP WEEK WITH GOOGLE: How do I pick the right foundation color for myself?
Guys... Let me tell you, I only really found my right foundation color my junior year of high school. Before then, my pale self had about the same complexion as Donald Trump... don't get me wrong, orange is my favorite color, but having that skin tone was NOT a look😂.
In all seriousness though, before I found my foundation color I would just look at bottles and judge it against my hand. Sounds like a smart idea, but I was a pretty bad judge obviously. But it's okay...I mean, no one ever said anything. Probably because we all low-key looked terrible learning how to do our makeup.
But now that I'm an older (and wiser) adult, I learned to match my foundation by being one of those girls that just pumps/pours the foundation onto the back of my hand and rubbing it in, then once it's dry I can tell if it matches. And if I like it, Ill grab an unopened bottle😂. Sounds a little unsanitary and selfish, but it be like that sometimes.
Of course some people are more civilized than me though so I would recommend going to Ulta or Sephora and asking an employee for some help finding a foundation that matches your skin. 9 times out of 10 the employee will probably take you to their most expensive aisle of makeup.
But lets be honest, no one wants to spend $100 worth of money on a 1 oz bottle of foundation.
Soooo grab the bottle and run! JUST KIDDING, please don't ever do that!!!
I would just walk around the store until I find a cheaper option that matches my skin tone or take a picture and find a dupe online. But if you're down to spend $100 on the original foundation then do whatever floats your boat!
Just remember the foundation is supposed to MATCH your body and BLEND it down your neck guys!!!
Yeah I didn't even use foundation until like 10th grade and it made my skin look so smooth I was so happy. Luckily, I never had too dark or too orange of a foundation. Whenever I get foundation I go to an employee at Ulta or Sephora to help me find a foundation that matches my skin. They always tells me to match your skin put it on your chin because that's how you see it will blend into your (pale) neck LOL.
