PHOBIA WEEK WITH GOOGLE: What is the difference between a fear and a phobia?
Have you ever had the 💩 scared out of you? I'm sure we all have at some point lol. However, that doesn't always mean you have a phobia.
A phobia is basically just an irrational fear. When people have a phobia they get severe anxiety and will do anything to avoid a situation involving their phobia. Sometimes the phobia triggers their anxiety without it even being present. TRIGGERED!!!!
I know what you're thinking and the answer is no. Just because you want to avoid your annoying ex and the thought of them disgusts you and seeing them in public gives you anxiety cause they cheated on you with your best friend and is a lying A-HOLE *clears throat* I digress...😅 this does not mean you have a phobia of your ex.
The most common phobias are the fear of spiders, germs, social situations, snakes, flying, dogs, thunder and lightning, needles, being alone, the dark, small spaces etc.
I can speak from experience because I have a phobia of throw up. YES, it is real. I hate the sound, the action of doing it, the smell, seeing it...literally everything. I physically can't be anywhere near it I plug my ears and run away. I start to get noodle legs, shakes and a pit in my stomach. I genuinely do not understand how people can be so nonchalant about such a gross concept.
My phobia is so bad that I left my own BOYFRIEND at a party because he was throwing up and I was literally horrified, crying and nauseous. Bless that he is still with me lol sorry for that babe if you're reading this.
My boyfriend is also terrified of needles (I am calling him out so much LOL) and refuses to get blood work done to avoid that situation. So, yes that is an example.
Hope this makes things more clear😁
